In a world where trends fade and quality can be hard to find, jewelry remains one of the few industries where legacy, artistry, and meaning truly endure. My name is Tami Davidov, and I’ve been part of the I.D. Jewelry family since 2003 — working alongside my husband, Yekutiel Davidov, and my in-laws in a business that blends heritage with innovation, and precision with creativity.
But the truth is, my journey into the jewelry world wasn’t straightforward. For a long time, I wanted anything but a life in jewelry.
A Childhood Filled with Rarity
I grew up surrounded by gems — but not in the way most people imagine. My father ran a jewelry business deeply rooted in our immigrant community, dealing not in mass-market trends, but in rare, collectible stones: untreated emeralds, vivid rubies, deep blue sapphires, and natural diamonds weighing 20 carats or more. These weren’t pieces designed for everyday wear or mainstream attention. They were investment-grade rarities.
He dealt with stones so exceptional that many were eventually auctioned off through prestigious houses like Christie’s and Sotheby’s, often landing in the hands of elite collectors and connoisseurs. It was a world of patience, exclusivity, and legacy — one where jewelry wasn’t just worn, it was treasured as art.
And yet, despite growing up surrounded by brilliance, I didn’t want anything to do with it — not because I rejected it, but because my feel for gems and jewels hadn’t developed yet. My eye was still premature. The love, curiosity, and intuition needed to truly understand and shape jewelry came much later — finely chiseled after entering I.D. Jewelry, where I began to see the beauty in everyday elegance, not just rare collectibles.
The Pull of a Different Path
In college, I majored in Political Science and Media Studies — drawn to culture, storytelling, and the dynamics of communication. My heart leaned toward fashion and design. I wanted to create, to curate, to help people express themselves in bold, modern ways.
I imagined a career in fashion — anything but jewelry. But as life often does, fate had its own plan.
Reconnecting with a Hidden Treasure
I first met Yekutiel as a young girl in our community synagogue — a warm gathering place where many immigrants from our country came together. We played together as kids, carefree and close. But as we grew older and more modest, we naturally drifted into the background of each other’s lives.
Years later, when we were both of marriageable age, we reacquainted. What started as a familiar face quickly became something much more. Since then, it’s been one big blur — a happy blur. Together, we’ve grown a beautiful family, deepened our roots, and strengthened I.D. Jewelry’s mission to provide excellence, trust, and personal attention.
Bridging Legacy with Modern Luxury
At I.D. Jewelry, I discovered a side of the industry I had never seen before — one that celebrated bridal and fashion jewelry, not just rare collectibles. I began immersing myself in the world of engagement rings, wedding bands, and meaningful milestones. I learned to see beauty in simplicity and elegance in everyday sparkle.
I realized I had a natural talent for spotting hidden treasures — pieces that weren’t necessarily big or rare, but that held deep emotional and stylistic value. From custom halo engagement rings to lab-grown diamonds, I became passionate about helping people find jewelry that reflects their love, identity, and legacy.
To solidify my knowledge, I earned my Graduate Diamond Gemologist certification from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This gave me both the technical expertise and confidence to educate our clients, whether they’re trying to understand how to tell if a diamond is real, or exploring the best lab-grown diamond engagement rings for their budget and values.
Why I.D. Jewelry Feels Like Home
I.D. Jewelry isn’t just a business — it’s where my creativity came alive. It’s where the technical precision of my upbringing met the personal style I always dreamed of bringing to life. It’s a place where our customers are treated like family and where every piece we create is a reflection of trust, transparency, and care.
Whether it’s a hand-selected natural diamond, a lab-grown solitaire, or a custom fashion piece, we’re not here to just sell jewelry — we’re here to help you find something that feels like it was made just for you.
Looking Ahead
After more than two decades in the jewelry world, I’ve come full circle. I carry with me the eye of a gem dealer’s daughter, the voice of a fashion lover, and the skillset of a trained gemologist. My role at I.D. Jewelry continues to evolve, and with it, so does our mission — to create lasting pieces, meaningful experiences, and lifelong relationships with our clients.
We’re not just in the business of diamonds and gold. We’re in the business of love stories, milestones, and memories — and we’re honored to be part of yours.
